Fifth Day of Christmas

On the Fifth day of Christmas we give to you fives awards a-shinin’! We were delighted to receive five awards this year with two Green Flags, two Golds in RHS London in Bloom and a Silver in RHS Britain in Bloom. A real testament to our hardworking volunteers, staff and partners.

Red Cross Garden and Waterloo Millennium Green now fly their Green Flags with pride, letting park users know that they are two of the UK’s very best green spaces. Green Flag judges particularly noted the hard work done by volunteers at Waterloo Millennium Green commenting, “The work undertaken by the volunteers, facilitated by BOST, enables this lovely park to be enjoyed and is a real testament to the volunteers’ hard work.”

Bankside Open Spaces Trust now manages or maintains four Green Flag awarded parks – with Mint Street Park and the Tate Community Garden winning last year.

RHS London in Bloom awarded us Gold for Red Cross Garden in the Small Parks category, while our second Gold was the result of a partnership with Better Bankside. Together we’ve been greening the streets and were pleased to receive Gold in RHS Urban Communities. This partnership also resulted in a Silver in the RHS Britain in Bloom Urban Communities, taking our packed trophy cabinet to over 34 awards!
