October half term - exercising mind and body at Marlborough Sports Garden
Rain, wind, social distancing... nothing could dampen spirits down at Marlborough Sports Garden in October half term! We were delighted to team up with Sport and Life Skills and the King Baudouin Foundation to deliver a multi sports programme throughout the week.
Dodgeball, football, touch rugby, tennis, hockey and even archery were on the menu and 77 young people stayed active all week. But it was just bodies that were exercised – life skills were developed too. Each day the team focused on a different skill covering awareness, personal achievement, teamwork, effort, trust and encouragement.
The week culminated in a fun Friday sports day and a medal ceremony to celebrate all the hard work put in throughout the week.
Huge thanks goes to the team from Sport and Life Skills for delivering an active and inspiring programme for our local young people. You can find out more about Sport and Life Skills here.
Our sports activities at Marlborough are currently on pause, but we look forward to getting active together again soon!
