Green Champions learning together

The Green Champions programme hosted two Autumn workshops in November. Perennial Paradise focused on the benefits of using perennial plants in the garden and involved some outdoor work. While Compost It celebrated the benefits of the humble compost bin and taught participants the best way to create lovely compost for the garden.

Each workshop took place at one of our community gardens – the Dog & Pot garden at Nelson Square Estates and Diversity Garden – and was a chance for keen local gardeners to meet each other.  One workshop participant said,

Sometimes you can feel like you are the only one out there in the garden, but today was nice because I realised that there are others who want to do a bit of gardening in their patch too and they are not very far away from me at all.
