Festive fun at the Merry Mingle

Bankside Open Spaces Trust staff, trustees, volunteers and supporters enjoyed an evening of festive fun with local residents and business people in Red Cross Garden on 13 December 2018. The mulled wine and hot apple juice flowed, along with hot chocolate for young minglers provided by Starbucks. Beautiful wreathes were crafted using greenery from our parks and gardens to a soundtrack of beautiful live jazz performed by the Holloway Allstars.

Southwark Mayor Councillor Catherine Rose turned on the Red Cross Christmas lights, adding a few poignant words about letting the light in at this dark time, a message that chimed so well at an event that would not have been possible without local people and businesses sharing their time and resources. Big thanks go to PWC’s Climate and Sustainability team who helped us set up and decorate the garden, Clickmas Trees for the tree, Starbucks for the hot chocolate, Coop Southwark Bridge Road for the treats and all our wonderful volunteers.
