Silver-Gilt for Tate Garden

tate.JPG

Every year we take part in the London In Bloom competition,  a brilliant way to keep us focused on maintaining beautiful, well looked-after spaces.  But like everything else this year it didn’t happen as usual and instead, we were invited to submit an online application.  We only had one gardener working at the time, so just submitted for the Tate Community Garden via a film made on a mobile phone.

We are pleased to announce that the judges awarded us one of the highest accolades, a Silver-Gilt.

The judges said,
“….loved the virtual tour of the garden and agree that all that was missing were the volunteers and visitors enjoying the space. Such an important space for the community but at least it has been well looked after and will be there when social distancing is relaxed even more. I can understand how it would be difficult to allow visitors into the garden under present conditions. Well done for keeping the garden looking so good! Award Nomination Silver-Gilt (High)”

Thank you, London in Bloom for your support as ever.

And congratulations to neighbouring Cottingham Community Garden in Elephant & Castle which also won a Silver-Gilt.
