Bankside Open Spaces Festival 2024 – a fun, free family afternoon!

Join us on 8 June from 12-9pm for a whole host of music, dance and sports activities plus quirky stalls, live theatre and sweet treats galore! Each area of our festival has something for children and young people to enjoy – don’t forget our central London beach by our Marlborough Sports Garden Stage.

Bankside Open Spaces Festival runs from Flat Iron Square to Borough High Street down Union Street, on Redcross Way and in our Red Cross Garden, Marlborough Sports Garden and Crossbones Graveyard.

BOSFest 24 activities and stalls for children

In Marlborough Sports Garden:

  • BIG Plant Giveaway from Bankside Open Spaces Trust – our way of spreading green love across London. Make up a pot and take a colourful, pollinator friendly gift home from Bankside Open Spaces Festival!
  • Facepainting with Coin Street, alongside a host of crafting.
  • Toys and sweet treats from Sweet Delite.
  • Crafts from Mud Gang and M.Y.O, see above.
  • Hands-on fun with Unicorn Theatre.
  • Borough Beach – buckets and spades in our huge sandpit!

In Red Cross Garden:

On Union Street and Redcross Way:

  • UDM Samba, 3pm on Union Street
  • Improv Theatre from Hoopla
  • Puppets with Avery Puppet Theatre. Back by popular demand – Morandi Still Life and Dancing Tomatoes, plus new surprises!
  • Ice Cream Van from Sweet Dreams
  • Nina’s Bows – hair accessories from our local bow expert!
  • Calm Zone – FREE Neurodiversity Friendly Nature and Green Craft Workshops
