As the days grow shorter and the festive season approaches, we invite you to join us for the Winter Warmer at Red Cross Garden on Thursday 4 December 2025, 5–7pm.
This special annual event celebrates community, creativity, and the enduring legacy of Octavia Hill, the garden’s visionary founder.
Octavia Hill, born on 3 December 1838, was a passionate social reformer who believed that access to green spaces was essential for wellbeing. Red Cross Garden was one of her first projects, designed to bring beauty, calm, and a sense of community to the heart of Southwark. Octavia was also one of the Co-Founders of the National Trust.
Every year, we mark her birthday with this festive gathering, honouring her vision of a space where people can come together, connect, and enjoy the simple joys of nature.
This year’s Winter Warmer promises an evening of wreath making, mulled wine, live music, and merriment. Whether you’re looking to get creative, catch up with friends, or simply soak in the garden’s atmosphere, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
